Testimonials Operation Santa Cruz
This is the fifth "Growing Without Waiting" operation in the region, which aims to reduce waiting lists and guarantee timely care for the children who need it most. The operation took place on April 11 and 12 and was carried out by a multidisciplinary team led by doctors Cristián Cavalla and José Antonio Pérez, together with volunteers and specialists in children's surgery and anesthesiology.

"Growing up without waiting": 30 children benefited in new surgical operation in the O'Higgins region
Our initiative "Growing without Waiting" continues to expand its impact in Chile with a new surgical operation performed in the O'Higgins Region. Thanks to the collaboration between MATER, the O'Higgins Health Service and the medical societies: Chilean Society of Pediatric Surgery and Society of Anesthesiology of Chile, approximately 30 pediatric surgeries of low complexity were performed at the Santa Cruz Hospital, benefiting children on the waiting list for pathologies such as phimosis, abdominal hernias and cryptorchidism.

"Growing Without Waiting": 59 children were treated in a new surgical operation in the Los Ríos Region
In a joint effort between MATER, medical societies and the Los Rios Health Service, this operation covered three hospitals in the southern zone, resolving low complexity surgeries in pediatric patients. The initiative not only advances in the reduction of waiting lists, but also reinforces equitable access to children's health, ensuring timely care for those who need it most.

"I don't practice any religion, but I have always had a lot of faith. A lot of faith in God and in Catita, my daughter. She was born with bad kidneys and soon after she had to have one of them removed. Before her first birthday she had already been on a mechanical respirator eleven times. We feared the worst, but she always clung to life. How could we not have faith in her then?
