The Casa de Acogida is clearly a very important help for patients and families coming from the regions. Having a place to come to that is clean, safe and welcoming is invaluable. The moms and dads who have stayed at the house always tell me that this place is very helpful for them. Another key aspect is that through living together they can share experiences, knowledge and mutual support. That is very important: to realize that you are not alone. Everyone accompanies each other.

Angela is the mother of a twelve year old girl with a kidney transplant, the result of a urinary tract infection that was not treated in time. Through her experience we can see that some chronic kidney diseases can be avoided and her testimony is an alert to mothers and fathers of children who have had a urinary infection, regular fevers, malaise, loss of appetite and other symptoms.

Jacqueline is Moisés' mother and every day she has to prepare her son's and her own peritoneal dialysis. Both are on the waiting list to receive a kidney. Both organizations joined forces to carry out 48 to 72-hour operations in which they have been able to intervene up to 15 patients per day in regional health centers, being able to meet the medical needs of 154 children in different cities during the year 2023.
