Dr. Escala in an interview with Biobío radio station

In the framework of the World Kidney Day, our Corporation MATER was present in various media nationwide publicizing the importance of taking care of our kidneys and how to prevent the disease, in addition to publicizing our work; among them in the Biobío radio, where our president and founder José Manuel Escala, was talking in the program Expreso PM with the drivers Loreto Álvarez, Álvaro Escobar and Rodrigo Ried.

During the interview, the doctor made it known that "In the face of chronic and terminal renal failure, the only options are dialysis or transplantation. It will be a very long road to reach the terminal stage, but it is a silent one. For this very reason, we must try to diagnose it as soon as possible".

He also added that "There has been an increase in recent times and today between 22 and 25 thousand people are dialyzed in Chile. It is also an enormous cost for the person who has to be connected to the machine 3 hours a day. There are many adults who started as children with this disease, there are different causes and it has more to do with diabetes or hypertension".

We invite you to relive this great interview here.
